The UNESCO has inscribed the Dolomites on
the World Heritage List
On 26th June 2009, UNESCO included these calcite mountains located in
northeastern Italy on its list of the most beautiful landscapes in the
world. By this action, the United Nations has officially recognized,
through its organization for education, science and culture, the unique
nature of the Dolomites.
